Three Lions touch down in Kansas City

Thomas Tuchel and his players flew into Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport

Earlier today, the England men’s team touched down in Kansas City ahead of their FIFA World Cup 2026 opener.

The Three Lions flew into Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport before travelling to their new home from home.

England will be based in Kansas City, Missouri for the duration of the tournament. Swope Soccer Village will be the Three Lions’ training base with Kansas City identified as the preferred location in January 2025 following an extensive search.

Swope Soccer Village is one of Sporting Kansas City’s training facilities and the current home of the club’s MLS NEXT Pro and MLS NEXT sides. The complex, located in the heart of Kansas City’s historic Swope Park, has previously hosted a variety of national and club sides having opened in 2007.

The Three Lions are just four days out from their first fixture of the tournament against Croatia on Wednesday 17 June 2026 (9pm BST kick-off) at Dallas Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA.

England then play Ghana on Tuesday 23 June (9pm BST kick-off) at the Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, USA.

And Thomas Tuchel’s team take on Panama on Saturday 27 June (10pm BST kick-off) at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA, in their final Group L match-up.

The Three Lions are the fourth and final team to arrive in Kansas, with Algeria, Argentina and the Netherlands also setting up camp in the vicinity.
