Young England talents to join Three Lions in Florida
Ethan Nwaneri, Alex Scott, Rio Ngumoha and Josh King will join the senior squad's World Cup preparation camp in Florida
England head coach Thomas Tuchel is bringing four of our country’s top young talents to the senior squad’s preparation camp in Miami for the FIFA 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The preparation camp will feature two matches in Florida.
The Three Lions will face New Zealand at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Saturday 6 June (4pm local/9pm BST kick-off).
Tuchel’s side will then welcome Costa Rica to the Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando on Wednesday 10 June (4pm local/9pm BST kick-off).
Our head coach confirmed that AFC Bournemouth’s Alex Scott, Fulham’s Josh King and Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha will report to Miami in his press conference after our 26-man Three Lions squad was announced on Friday 22 May.
Tuchel has now confirmed that Ethan Nwaneri, the Arsenal forward who has been on loan at Olympique de Marseille in France's Ligue 1 this season, will join Scott, King and Ngumoha.
“We will take some young players out who will train with us in the size of the squad that we need, and we have the two friendly matches to take care of the minutes and the load on the players,” revealed Tuchel.
“I’m happy to have these players, especially Alex who was on the [long] list of 55 [players for the 26-man World Cup squad] and obviously he didn’t make the first cut but the reaction of him was outstanding and the commitment and wish to be in pre-camp and a step closer to the team was not even a question for him.
“That showed me his character and I’m delighted he’ll be with us because that was a close call and he gets a chance to get a step closer and a cap.

The 22 year old received his first senior call-up to the England squad for the final two World Cup qualifiers of 2025.
He is no stranger to international football with the Three Lions, having been capped through various development teams and also winning two titles with both the MU19s at their EURO Finals in 2023 and then with the MU21s who became European champions in 2025.
Nwaneri played his part in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal securing the 2025-26 Premier League title, making six league appearances in the first half of the season.
He joined Marseille on loan in January 2026 and has scored two goals in nine Ligue 2 matches.
The 19 year old has represented England at various youth levels up to the Under-21s, appearing in every match as they won the EURO U21 title in 2025.
Aged just 17, Ngumoha has been one of the standout breakthrough talents in the Premier League this season, making 18 appearances and registering two goals and an assist for Liverpool.
The winger made his England MU17s debut in 2024 and his MU19s debut in 2025.
Midfielder King is another breakthrough talent in the Premier League in 2025-26, making 31 appearances for Fulham and registering one goal and two assists.
King’s represented England from MU16 to MU21 level since 2022 and played at the 2025 UEFA Euro U19 championship.
