England squad named for September and October window

Thomas Tuchel has named his England squad for the first games of the 2026-27 season, as the Three Lions begin a new UEFA Nations League campaign.

The head coach has selected a 27-man squad for the four-game window, which takes place between 21 September and 6 October 2026.

There’s a return to the Three Lions squad for a number of players following the start of the new campaign with their clubs, with the likes of Cole Palmer, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lewis Hall, Rio Ngumoha, Jarrad Branthwaite, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Alex Scott all selected.

And there’s a place in the squad for Trent Alexander-Arnold, alongside his Real Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham.

In their first game since sealing bronze at this summer’s FIFA World Cup, England will start the season by hosting the new world champions Spain at a sold-out Wembley on Saturday 26 September (7.45pm) before heading to Prague for a game with Czechia on Tuesday 29 September (7.45pm).

The squad will remain overseas for the third match of the window when they head to Rijeka to renew acquaintances with Croatia, who they met in the group stages at the World Cup in June, on Saturday 3 October (5pm).

And the international window comes to an end on Tuesday 6 October (7.45pm), when Czechia are the visitors to Wembley. Tickets for that game remain on sale.

Tuchel and his squad will meet at St. George’s Park early next week to begin their preparations for the games, and the best place to follow and stay close to the camp is via the England app.
