The marauding right-back was first called into the senior squad by Thomas Tuchel in August 2025, ahead of the first international window of the 2025-26 season, after an impressive start to the season with Tottenham Hotspur.

Having earned six caps with the MU21s in the 2022-23 EURO campaign under Lee Carsley, Spence arrives with international experience under his belt and an interesting journey to the top.

After starting out as an academy player at Fulham, Spence left his native London for the north east when he joined Middlesbrough in 2018 and he amassed over 60 appearances at the Riverside Stadium before a loan move to Nottingham Forest in the 2021-22 campaign saw him become a key player in the Reds' promotion to the Premier League.

His performances at the City Ground saw Tottenham swoop for his services in the summer of 2022, and after initially finding opportunities hard to come by at the Hotspur Stadium, loan moves to Rennes, Leeds United and Genoa followed.

But after breaking into the Spurs squad in the 2024-25 season, he started to impress and continued that form into the new campaign before his Three Lions call arrived.
