The versatile youngster was first called into the England men's senior squad during the October 2025 international window for the games with Wales and Latvia, having enjoyed a strong start to the 2025-26 season with Manchester City.
He was then named in the starting lineup for the Three Lions' game with Serbia at Wembley the following month to make his debut in a 2-0 win during the 2027 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
Capable of playing as a left-back or in midfield, O'Reilly had been a regular for England's development teams over the years and was capped at MU16, MU17, MU18 and MU20 level while emerging through the academy ranks of his hometown club.
He joined City's academy at the age of eight having first cut his teeth with local clubs in north Manchester.
