Ahead of the game, see some of the latest facts and stats from Opta...

● England have picked up just two victories from their last 16 meetings with USA in all competitions (D2 L12), failing to win any of their last four in a row since a 1-0 victory back in March 2017 in the SheBelieves Cup.

● USA have managed to find the back of the net in 16 of their 18 matches against England in all competitions, only drawing a blank in July 1988 (2-0 loss) and March 2017 (1-0 loss). Indeed, USA have netted 40 goals across their 18 meetings with England, while also keeping ten clean sheets.

● This will be just the third time that England have hosted USA on English soil, with the Lionesses running out 2-1 winners at Brisbane Road in April 2011 and losing 1-0 in February 2015 at Stadium MK.

● England have yet to lose under Sarina Wiegman, winning 20 of their 22 matches in all competitions and scoring 118 goals in the process (average of 5.4 per game). At the other end, the Lionesses have conceded just five goals and kept 17 clean sheets under the Dutchwoman.

● USA have gone unbeaten in each of their last 21 matches in all competitions (W18 D3), winning each of the last 13 in a row. Indeed, USA’s last defeat in any competition came back in August 2021 versus Canada at the Olympic games (1-0).

● Since Sarina Wiegman’s first game in charge of England in September 2021, Beth Mead has scored more goals (21), provided more assists (16), and created more goalscoring chances (81) than any other player for the Lionesses.

● Mallory Pugh has been directly involved in more goals in all competitions for USA in 2022 than any other player, with the forward scoring six goals and providing seven assists in 13 appearances.

Ella Toone has been directly involved in 21 goals in her 23 appearances for England in all competitions (14 goals, 7 assists), with the midfielder assisting twice last time out versus Luxembourg, which was one more than she’d assisted in her previous nine combined (1).

Stade Lyonnais

There was World Cup heartbreak for the Lionesses in France 2019, as the States edged into the World Cup Final after a thrilling encounter in Lyon. Again, Christen Press opened the scoring after ten minutes before Ellen White levelled things up nine minutes later. But when Alex Morgan scored after the half-hour mark it put the USWNT on the road to the final while England were left to rue what could've been after captain Steph Houghton's second-half penalty miss.

The Lionesses earned a worthy draw at the SheBelieves Cup in 2019, when goals from Steph Houghton and Nikita Parris saw England strike back after US superstar Megan Rapinoe had put the hosts ahead. Phil Neville's team couldn't hold on though and Tobin Heath equalised in the second half to ensure a share of the spoils.
