England Women's squad updates for the Arnold Clark Cup games with Canada, Spain and Germany

February 16

Lotte Wubben-Moy will not be joining up with the England squad for the Arnold Clark Cup.

The defender will continue to work on her rehab programme with Arsenal, leaving Sarina Wiegman with a squad of 23 players for Thursday’s match against Canada in Middlesbrough.

There are no plans to call up a replacement.

Sarina Wiegman has named Leah Williamson as England Lionesses' captain for this month’s Arnold Clark Cup fixtures.

The Arsenal star captained England women’s senior team in Wiegman’s first four matches in charge in September and October, after injury ruled out long-standing skipper Steph Houghton.

Williamson herself was then ruled out of the next two games in November, with Chelsea’s Millie Bright being made captain for the victories over Austria and Latvia.

And this morning it was confirmed that Williamson would once again lead England this month for the inaugural Arnold Clark Cup.

Williamson was one of 23 players in training on Tuesday morning but her Arsenal team-mate Lotte Wubben-Moy has yet to link up with the squad as she continues to be assessed and treated by the Gunners’ medical team after the defender missed Friday night’s draw with Chelsea in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

The England women’s senior team are playing three matches across the country this month as part of the inaugural Arnold Clark Cup.

England Women v Canada will take place at Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough on Thursday, England Women v Spain will be hosted by Norwich City’s Carrow Road on Sunday and England Women v Germany will be at Wolves’ Molineux Stadium on Wednesday 23 February.

Tickets are available from £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s and can be purchased from here
