England Women squad updates: Lotte Wubben Moy returns home

The latest England Women squad updates as the Lionesses face Japan and Norway in November

10am, Tuesday 15 November

Lotte Wubben-Moy will miss tonight’s fixture against Norway as a precaution with a minor muscle injury.

The Arsenal defender has this morning returned to her club for treatment.

The Lionesses kick-off their final fixture of 2022 at the Pinatar Arena at 7pm GMT (8pm local).

12pm, Saturday 12 November

Beth Mead has withdrawn from the England squad due to family circumstances. The Arsenal forward, who won her 50th cap for the Lionesses in Friday night’s victory against Japan, has returned home today.

Lucy Bronze will also leave the squad and return to her club over the weekend as a precaution due to a minor injury.

England take on Norway on Tuesday 15 November (KO 8pm, 7pm GMT) in their final fixture of 2022.

6.15pm, Friday 11 November

Sarina Wiegman used her pre-match interview with ITV to confirm that Lucy Bronze has tested negative for COVID but will be returning to Barcelona on Saturday morning with a minor injury.


England Women take on Japan tonight at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia, Spain, before facing Norway on Tuesday, with both kicking off at 7pm.

12pm, Wednesday 10 November


Alex Greenwood sustained a minor injury at the weekend and will miss tomorrow's game with Japan. It is hoped she will return on Tuesday against Norway

Lucy Bronze has tested positive for COVID and will return to the squad when she tests negative, she remains in camp.

5pm, Monday 7 November

Gabby George has been called up to the England women’s senior squad.

The Everton defender will join the 24-player squad with Lauren Hemp and Jordan Nobbs withdrawing today due to injury.

Both Hemp and Nobbs will return to their clubs to receive treatment.

The squad will travel to Spain today to take on their fellow 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup finalists Japan and Norway at the Pinatar Arena football centre in Murcia.

The fixtures see Japan up first on Friday 11 November (KO 8pm CET, 7pm GMT), followed by a meeting with Norway on Tuesday 15 November (KO 8pm CET, 7pm GMT).

Friday 4 November

Jess Park has been called up to the England women’s senior squad.

The forward, who is on loan at Everton from Manchester City, receives her second senior call-up and will replace Chelsea’s Fran Kirby.

Kirby continues to recover from a viral infection and will remain with her club to complete her recovery and return to training.

The 25-player squad will travel to Spain next week to take on their fellow 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup finalists Japan and Norway at the Pinatar Arena football centre in Murcia.

The fixtures see Japan up first on Friday 11 November (KO 8pm CET, 7pm GMT), followed by a meeting with Norway on Tuesday 15 November (KO 8pm CET, 7pm GMT).
