England Women’s senior team saw International Day of the Girl off in style on Tuesday, with a hive of activity across the day.
With the Lionesses hosting Czech Republic in front of more than 20,000 adoring fans in Brighton, the team dedicated the match to Let Girls Play campaign, a campaign that supports our equal ambition for girls to have equal access to football in schools and clubs.
It all started at 9am, when a special International Day of the Girl video went live from the Lionesses social channels before the Let Girls Play campaign was discussed on national TV during Good Morning Britain.

At Brighton, while the players warmed up for the game in special Let Girls Play shirts, fans in the crowd were treated to Let Girls Play giveaways such as t-shirts, stickers, tattoos and flags.
England head coach Sarina Wiegman, who had already backed the Let Girls Play campaign in her programme notes, sported a highly-visible pin badge during the game.
And at half time, there was a pitch parade by a local school who are part of the Barclays’ Girls’ Football Schools partnership while more t-shirts were fired into the crowd from the cannons to maintain the excitement.
After the game, two of our Let Girls Play ambassadors Abi and Zaina were joined by England defender Lotte Wubben-Moy - who had already met Prime Minister Liz Truss earlier in the week to discuss the importance of girls having the same opportunities as boys to play football - to speak live on ITV as part of their coverage of the game.

"It was just bridging the vision between girls football and boys football and just making it football for all" ⚡
