England men’s under-17s won again in UEFA U17 EURO qualifying with a resounding 4-0 victory against Latvia on Sunday morning.

Neil Ryan’s side played their second of three fixtures this week at the Centenary Stadium, Malta, aiming to make it six points from six.

Still full of confidence after an impressive 4-0 victory on Thursday against Malta, The Young Lions got off to a fast start again.

With a handful of chances thwarted by goalkeeper Nils Balaguss early on, England broke the deadlock 17 minutes in. The ball sat up perfectly for Luke Rawlings on the edge of the box and his wonderful half volley clipped in off the crossbar to give England the lead.

And the Young Lions kept up their impressive goalscoring form as two more goals were added before the break.

Luca Williams-Barnett doubled his side's lead on the half-hour mark, finding space inside the 18-yard box before coolly finishing at the keeper's near post.

Moments later, Blackburn Rovers forward Igor Tyjon found himself in behind the Latvia backline. His first attempt was well saved by the goalkeeper but he was able to tuck away a simple rebound.

It wouldn’t take long for England to score again after the interval, matching their Malta victory as they made it four early on in the second period.

Winger Harry Howell was the scorer this time, bursting past two defenders before opening up his body and sliding a left-footed finish past the goalkeeper.

From there, the Young Lions cruised to another 4-0 victory and placed themselves in a comfortable position heading into their final group game.

They are next in action on October 30th (13:30 BST) against Sweden, where Ryan’s side will be looking to make it three wins from three in Round 1 of qualifying and progress onto Round 2 next spring.
