MEET THE MU21s EURO SQUAD
England men's under-21s will face Germany in the 2025 UEFA U21 EURO Final on Saturday 28 June, with the game kicking-off at 8pm BST at the national stadium in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Lee Carsley's Young Lions will be aiming to retain their title, following victory in Georgia in 2023, but they will come up against a Germany team who they have already met once in the competition during group stages last week.
Saturday's match will be shown live in the UK on Channel 4 while the game will also be streamed live by UEFA.TV.
Ahead of the Final, with a little help from Opta, here are some of the key facts and stats...
- For a third time, England and Germany are set to face in a UEFA Under-21 Championship final: in 1982, England won 5-4 on aggregate (3-1 first leg, 2-3 second leg) and in 2009, the Germans won 4-0 with goals from Gonzalo Castro, Mesut Özil and a brace from Sandro Wagner.
- Across England’s last 12 matches at the UEFA Under-21 Championship, their only defeat (W10 D1) came against Germany earlier this campaign in the group stage. The last time a team won a final against a side they’d lost to earlier in the campaign was the Netherlands vs Ukraine in 2006 (lost 2-1 in group stage, won 3-0 in final).

- England are the holders of the UEFA Under-21 Championship. The only previous nations to retain the trophy are England themselves (1982, 1984), Italy (1992, 1994, 1996), the Netherlands (2006, 2007) and Spain (2011, 2013).
- Germany have reached their sixth UEFA Under-21 Championship final, with only Spain (9) and Italy (7) featuring in more. They are three-time winners (2009, 2017, 2021) and two-time losing finalists (1982, 2019).
- All five of England’s UEFA Under-21 Championship finals have either been against Germany (won in 1982, lost in 2009, facing in 2025) or Spain (won in 1984 and 2023).
- Germany have won all five of their UEFA Under-21 Championship matches this campaign, their longest-ever winning run in the competition, scoring more than two goals in each victory (15 in total).

- Germany rank third for shots attempted at the 2025 UEFA Under-21 Championship with 74, but they do have the best shot conversion rate at 20.3 per cent, converting 15 goals. England, by contrast, have only converted 11.8 per cent of their attempts (9/76).
- Omari Hutchinson has made the most dribbles of any player at the 2025 UEFA Under-21 Championship (24) and is one of only three England players on record (since 2007) to attempt 20+ dribbles in a single edition: Theo Walcott in 2009 (22) and Noni Madueke in 2023 (26).
- Harvey Elliott has scored four goals at the 2025 UEFA Under-21 Championship, with only Mark Hateley in 1984 ever scoring more for England in a single edition (six). Overall, Elliott has 13 goals in 25 appearances for the under-21s, level with Alan Shearer and Francis Jeffers, with only Eddie Nketiah ever scoring more (16).
- Germany’s Nick Woltemade has been involved in nine goals at the 2025 UEFA Under-21 Championship (six goals, three assists), the most ever by a player in a single edition Opta has on record since 2007. Woltemade’s 12 chances created are bettered only by Slovakia’s Tomás Rigo this year (13), while only Mathys Tel (eight) has had more shots on target than Woltemade (seven).
