ENGLAND LEGACY: FIND OUT MORE

A number of former England men’s internationals and their families became the latest players to receive their legacy caps in March and April 2026.

The matches at Wembley against Uruguay and Japan during the March international window gave an opportunity for the FA to welcome the families of 13 players who have now passed away, while Sir Trevor Brooking, Alvin Martin and Clive Allen were present to receive their legacy caps in person.

FA Chair Debbie Hewitt MBE welcomed all of the players and their families in the Wembley Suite at both games to present their caps.

She then attended the match between Stoke City and Sheffield Wednesday on Friday 3 April, to present the family of 1966 World Cup winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks (#816) with his legacy cap.

You can see the full list of all the players to be recognised below.
