FIFA World Cup 2026 application and ballot result information

The ballot results for FIFA World Cup 2026™ tickets are now beginning to become visible in FIFA accounts.

Not all application results will arrive from FIFA at the same time and are expected to land between Friday 6 February and Monday 9 February 2026

All applications are final, and the information below reflects the confirmed outcomes of that process, based on completed applications submitted by ESTC members using their assigned access codes in FIFA’s ticketing portal between Monday 15 December and the final deadline on Tuesday 13 January.

Since the initial guidance was issued, a number of late applications were received from members, which has resulted in slight movements in the final caps thresholds. As a result, the confirmed caps totals may differ marginally from the earlier guidance provided.  As always, and as outlined, previous guidance was subject to change and not to be treated as confirmation of tickets or specific ticket categories.

For each fixture, two caps thresholds were identified in advance:

 - The active caps total an active ESTC member required to guarantee a ticket in the lowest-priced category (Supporter Entry Tier).

 - The active caps total an active ESTC member required to guarantee a ticket in any available category (Supporter Value, Supporter Premier or Supporter Standard).

Where a member’s active caps total fell below the level required to guarantee a ticket in either scenario, their application was entered into a ballot in line with Membership Tournament Ballot Rule 6.3 to determine whether it was successful.

Please be aware that:

 - For relevant matches, members who were successful via the guaranteed caps threshold for Category 4 will appear as “Unsuccessful” within the official FIFA application portal. This is expected and simply means that no payment will be taken by FIFA.  Payment for these tickets will be taken by The FA at a later date and successful applicants will be updated on this in due course.  Information on how the Category 4 tickets were distributed can be found here.

 - Not all application results will arrive from FIFA at the same time and are expected to land between Friday 6 February and Monday 9 February 2026. In cases where a member is unsuccessful for all matches they applied for, FIFA have outlined emails will begin to be sent from Monday 9 February 2026.

 - At this moment in time there is no waiting list for unsuccessful members.  A waiting list will be published and sent to supporters once the FIFA payment window is complete.

The following key principles, which were applied consistently across all matches and categories:

1. Ballot completed & applications final

All caps thresholds and mini-ballots outlined below are the result of the ballot process and are finalYou are unable to edit applications at this stage.

2. Downgrade logic applied

Where a supporter selected the option to downgrade (moving from a higher priced ticket category to the next lowest priced ticket category), and their active caps total was sufficient to be successful in a lower category, the application was automatically processed at that lower category.

3. No upward movement between categories

If a supporter’s active caps total would have guaranteed a ticket in a higher priced ticket category, but they only applied for a lower priced ticket category, the application was unsuccessful where their caps total did not meet the requirement for that lower category. There is no functionality within the FIFA allocation process to move supporters up a category.

4. 4 Home / 2 Away criteria (4+2)

Supporters who meet the 4+2 requirement, but only applied for Supporter Value tickets, and whose active caps total fell below the level required to guarantee a ticket for that category, were not successful, even if they met the 4+2 criteria.

5. Applications including Juniors

As previously advised, applications containing Juniors were assessed using the lowest active caps total on the application.

For example, an Adult with 34 active caps applying alongside a Junior with 18 active caps was assessed on 18 active caps.

6. Accessible tickets (wheelchair / easy access)

We were advised that accessible tickets, such as wheelchair or easy-access seating where a carer or companion ticket is required, must be paid for. Final allocations for these ticket categories are still being confirmed and will be communicated by ESTC separately.

Due to the late confirmation of information around accessibility tickets during the application period, and to ensure these tickets are managed appropriately, The FA will be handling accessibility tickets directly with applying supporters. This approach is intended to avoid situations where supporters are allocated tickets that do not meet their access requirements.

When FIFA release official application outcomes, accessible applications will be shown as “Unsuccessful”. This is expected and simply means:

-No payment will be taken by FIFA, and

-ESTC will contact accessible members directly to confirm whether an appropriate accessible ticket can be offered on a match-by-match basis.

7. Payments

For successful applications, payment will be taken by FIFA between 9 February and 22 February.

8. How the Supporter Entry Tier – Category 4 tickets were allocated

Based on the final applications received, there were more Category 4 tickets available than Top Cappers applying. This meant that some members were guaranteed a Category 4 ticket, while others were placed into a mini-ballot for the remaining tickets. The caps totals required for each match were outlined at the time.

Members who were included in any mini-ballots will have been informed directly of their outcomes.

Members who were within the guaranteed caps threshold for a match, and who submitted their application correctly and before the January 2 2026deadline, should consider themselves successful.

Important note on Category application status

For relevant matches, members who were successful via the guaranteed caps threshold for Category 4 will appear as “Unsuccessful” within the official FIFA application portal. This is expected and simply means that no payment will be taken by FIFA.

Payment for these tickets will be taken by The FA at a later date and successful applicants will be updated on this in due course.  Information on how the Category 4 tickets were distributed can be found here.
