Ellen White is set to be inducted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame.
She will be honoured at a special ceremony at the National Football Museum in Manchester on 18 June, in recognition of an outstanding career at the very highest level of the game, as well as her continued contribution to football and wider society since hanging up the boots.
The two-time WSL winner is the Lionesses’ all-time top scorer, with 52 goals in 113 appearances across her international career.
“It’s a real honour to be inducted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame,” she said. “Football has given me so many incredible experiences and opportunities, and to be recognised alongside so many people who have shaped the game is very special.
“I’m looking forward to celebrating at the Museum and sharing the moment with family, friends and fans.”
After winning UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 on home soil with England, she hung up her boots and announced her retirement from football later in August that year.
Domestically, White – who has since embarked upon a career in broadcasting and media – enjoyed success with the likes of Arsenal, Notts County, Birmingham City, Manchester City and Chelsea.
Tim Desmond, CEO of the National Football Museum, said: “Ellen White has been one of the defining figures in the modern era of English football.
“Her achievements on the pitch are exceptional, but just as important is the role she continues to play in growing the game, inspiring the next generation and representing football with warmth, intelligence and integrity. We are delighted to welcome her into the Hall of Fame.”
Last year, it was also announced the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025-winning squad, along with head coach Sarina Wiegman, were to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, in recognition of the Lionesses becoming the first England team to win a major tournament on international soil.
