England women's head coach Sarina Wiegman sat down to discuss the forthcoming World Cup qualifying games with Spain and Ukraine in an exclusive interview for the official England app.

The Lionesses face a crucial match against group rivals Spain in Mallorca on Friday 5 June, when Wiegman's side could seal their place at the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup before they head back to home soil on Tuesday 9 June when they face Ukraine at Everton's Hill-Dickinson Stadium.

Wiegman named her squad for the two games on Tuesday morning, shortly before she sat down to talk about her selection and their approach to these two games.

“There’s not many changes from the squad in April, and I’m really happy with that and it’s nice to have Ella Toone and Aggie [Beever-Jones] back," she said.

“We’re in a good place with two weeks to go before the games.

“We really want to qualify as quickly as possible. The facts are that we can qualify this camp, that’s either against Spain or Ukraine.

"If that’s not possible we still have the opportunity to qualify in the autumn, but of course we’ll go out in June and we approach every game to win it, so we’ll go to play Spain in Mallorca and go there and play to win.

“That’s a massive challenge but it’s also the same for Spain and after that we’ll see what it brings us.
