The England and Chelsea forward looks back on some of her favourite photos from the tournament

PLAYER PROFILE: AGGIE BEEVER-JONES

UEFA Women's EURO 2025 saw a number of Lionesses make their first major tournament squad, one of which was Aggie Beever-Jones.

From scoring on her tournament debut against Wales to the celebrations after beating Spain in the final, the England and Chelsea forward takes a trip down memory lane through some of her most memorable photos from the summer.

'I had no clue what to expect'

A cute little picture of me and my camera! In this moment, I had no clue what to expect. I didn’t know if we were going to come away and win it but obviously, we did.

For me, photography’s always been something that I’ve really found an interest in and it’s nice to capture little moments. I didn’t know what was going to happen, so it’s quite nice to see almost the pre-tournament. I was completely unaware of what the next few weeks were going to entail.

'We're like Dora the Explorers'

I think it was one of the first few days we got there and we did the team bonding activity. That was on the boat and it was lovely, just to get out there into Zürich and get that last bit of team bonding in. It was just nice to appreciate the country without the football aspect and wind down before it was all about to kick off.

We’ve got a bit of nickname for Maya [Le Tissier] – we’re like Dora the Explorers together – just with the dog and countless coffee shop trips and stuff. I just find it a nice way to chill and zone out away from the football and find the joys and the little things.

'My first tournament football'

I think it was nice to come on with Niamh [Charles]. I didn’t even really think too much about it being my tournament debut. I was just thinking, ‘get the job done’ so we would hopefully win and progress and get to the next round. Obviously, my first tournament football was a moment I’ll look back on and have a nice little smile.

Everyone said, ‘do the task’ and execute the gameplan and afterwards, everyone came up to me and said, ‘congrats’ and I was like ‘why are people congratulating me?’ Then I realised it was my tournament debut.

'We had a bit of an inside thing'

For us, we knew the starting eleven was going to stay pretty similar and as the finishers and subs, we all knew we had a role to play to support the team and whenever we were called upon to make sure we turn up and show what we can do. For me, it was really important to score and go over to them because it was all for us – it wasn’t just about me.

It was a very sweet moment and we had a bit of an inside thing with the clicking which was good vibes and positivity and it was nice to celebrate that moment with everyone. I celebrated with Beth and headed straight to the subs bench and had a moment with them.

'Me, Hempo and Reggie'

It was a nice podcast – me, Hempo [Lauren Hemp] and Reggie just joined us! It’s nice to have a chat about football as well as normal life on the pod. He’s James, our barista’s dog. I’m probably one of his most regular customers!

Just good times. We were absolutely spoilt rotten, in terms of the hotel. It literally felt like a home away from home.

'That just sums me and Grace up'

To be fair, we had to get some branding in so me and Grace thought we’d make it a bit more fun! That just sums me and Grace up. We’re just always having a laugh. Anyone who knows Grace, she’s always up for a laugh and causing mischief. She brings that side out of me which is sweet.

Trying to find the joy in little things when you’re coming back late from a late game, having gone to extra time and penalties, and you’ve got to grind and train tomorrow. We were just trying to brighten up the mood a little bit sometimes!

'One of the best birthdays I've ever had'

It was an absolutely incredible day. It was on my birthday and I was just praying to get the best birthday present which it was clearly. It was one of the best birthdays I’ve ever had. I don’t think I’ll top it in my life. The smile says it all really. It was the perfect day.

I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. When it went to penalties, I was thinking, ‘it’s fine – we’ve been here and done it’. I always knew we were going to do it again. As soon as that penalty went in, just complete euphoria. I think my cheeks hurt for the next week afterwards because I was buzzing.

'Wow, that's incredible'

When we saw the plane, we thought, ‘wow, that’s incredible’. To do it twice in a row – me being part of only the second time – to appreciate all the girls that did it before and did it again was an incredible achievement.

I was happy to land back home and start the parade which again, was incredible. I just remember on that plane journey, everyone was a bit like, ‘this is sinking in a little bit more’. We were just super excited to get back home and see family.

'A full circle moment for me'

This is actually a really sweet picture because I didn’t realise but Bronzey [Lucy Bronze] was holding me. She’s holding my shirt, bless her, to make sure I don’t fall off which I didn’t realise at the time. Me and Maya – one of my best friends – and it was so nice to share the moment with everyone but especially her who is someone who picked me up on some bad days and had my back. The parade, for me, is one of the best moments of the whole trip – that final push that we did it and got to celebrate in that manner. It was the best experience of my life, for sure.

I was at the first one when they won it at Trafalgar Square and I thought, ‘this is incredible’. Not once did I think, maybe in four years’ time I’d be there on stage. It was definitely a full circle moment for me. It was everything I expected and more – Burna Boy coming out, me and Niamh dancing on stage.
