The Young Lionesses are in Northern Ireland for the 2026 UEFA WU17 EUROs this month

England women's under-17s are aiming for EURO glory in May, as they compete at the UEFA Women's U17 EURO Finals 2026 in Northern Ireland.

Kerri Welsh's squad came through an impressive qualification campaign to reach the last eight, and they now prepare for their group stage games with the host nation (3pm BST, Monday 4 May), Germany (3pm BST, Thursday 7 May) and Norway (3pm BST, Sunday 10 May). All games will be shown live on uefa.tv.

Ahead of the tournament, we caught up with captain Katie Scott (KS) and Bella Cowley (BC) who give the lowdown on their teammates...

1. Evie Mitchell

KS – So genuine, talks to anyone and obviously an amazing shot stopper, she’s so reliable at the back.

2. Zoe Ciccardini

BC – One of the cleverest people I’ve ever met, both on and off the pitch. She’s so friendly and always around to speak to if you need her.

3. Katie Scott

BC – Our team captain, you can always rely on her, such a good person to speak to about anything, always got open arms, and she’s a good DJ!

4. Romia Gagliano

KS – One of the hardest workers, she’s very brave, and on the ball she’s amazing, a great player and a great teammate.

5. Lucy Robinson

KS – A brick wall at the back. So solid in defence and a great teammate who you can trust at the back.

6. Ama Nwankwo

BC – She is probably one of the quickest players on the team and you can always trust her to get back in, she’s really athletic and a hard-working player.

7. Cairo Antoine

KS – Electric player, she’s amazing 1v1, and she’s one of our players that can make a difference. You know when she comes on that she’ll bring the energy.

8. Bryony Brodie

BC – One of my best friends and wouldn’t say it to her face, but one of the funniest people, and on the ball, she is really creative and so consistent in performing for the team.

9. Freya Hirons

KS – She’s a great personality to have in the team and on the pitch, she’s so calm but so strong and powerful. We know if we get the ball to her, she’ll be able to hold it up, or even go to goal herself

10. Kyri Teer-Hutchins

BC – She’s friends with everyone, an all-round great person and a real team player, really skilful on the ball.

11. Mia Dixon

BC – You’ve never seen quick feet like hers; she’s so skilful and rapid. If she wanted to, she could dribble past all eleven players on the pitch.

12. Maisie Brickell

BC – So smiley and happy all the time, and she’s so versatile, she can play so many different positions and just really great to have on the team.

13. Vicky Rudz

BC – Always laughing, like a cat in the goal, no matter where the ball is she can always get it, so good in goal and self-proclaimed pen merchant because of her shot-stopping abilities,

14. Gaby Storey

KS – So bubbly, no matter who she speaks to, you can tell that she cares. She’s so consistent on the pitch, calm on the ball and also a really good leader, good at driving the standard.

15. Bella Cowley

KS – A very important part of the team. On the pitch, her in-possession abilities are great, her playing into the middle and breaking lines is something that’s so useful. And off the pitch, she’s so funny, and she doesn’t even know it, so nice to be around.

16. Lottie Day

KS – A very versatile player who can play many positions, she’s very powerful and athletic and she doesn’t stop running. She’ll do everything for the team and loves a good slide tackle.

17. Sophia Burton

BC – Very creative, she’s good in the box, likes to go to goal and a great person to be around.

18. Phoebe De Bohan

BC – She’s so genuine, so funny, but also someone you can really trust and rely on. On the ball she’s really creative, and also versatile

19. Chelsea N’Drin

KS – She’s so important to the team, she’s so nice and without her here it would be a very different team.

20. Abbie Jones

KS – Newer to the group but has come and fit right in, she’s a confident player, I remember her first game she pressed the centre back and nearly scored and straight away we all knew she was just meant to be here

21. Billie Price

BC – A friendly giant. She’s one of the younger on the team but has come in and brought so much energy and positivity
