How Three Lions fans chose their squads for the World Cup

A total of 35,389 England fans stepped into the shoes of Three Lions head coach Thomas Tuchel and predicted our FIFA World Cup 2026 squad.

That was the number of fans who picked their 26-man England squad for the World Cup on our Squad Selector game, available play on the official England app up until the night before Thomas Tuchel’s squad was announced on the same platform.

Tuchel’s squad was announced in a Live Show on the England app, which is the best place to follow the Three Lions throughout the tournament and see a host of exclusive content from the England camp before you can see it anywhere else.

We look at the most-selected players by England fans.

The fans aligned perfectly with Tuchel’s selections when it came to the most popular picks for the squad.

The ten most-selected players all made Tuchel’s squad, with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford chosen by 35,233 out of 35,389 fans, at 99.6%.

England captain Harry Kane and central midfielder Declan Rice also topped 99%, while Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka weren’t far behind.
