Ebere Eze received his first senior England call-up for the June internationals against Malta and North Macedonia, after his eye-catching form at Crystal Palace helped the Eagles to secure their Premier League status.

Born in Greenwich in south London, Eze was initially on the books of local club Millwall as a youngster but it was following a switch to west London with Queens Park Rangers where he really made his mark.

His flair and skill in midfield or on the flank quickly made him a stand-out player in the EFL Championship and it was no surprise when he received his first taste of international football with England MU20s in the 2018-19 campaign. He went on to feature against European opposition such as Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland and Portugal during that season before getting a taste of competing against the likes of Japan, Chile and Guatemala at the 2019 Maurice Revello Tournament in Toulon, France.

The following season saw him progress into the MU21s set up and he was a key member of the team as the Young Lions looked to reach the U21 EURO Finals in Hungary and Slovenia. With the competition badly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, they eventually featured in the group stages of the Finals in March 2021, but fortunately missed out on reaching the knockouts.

On the domestic front, after three seasons of regular football with QPR, Eze made the move to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2020 where he got his first taste of Premier League football. After a strong first season at Selhurst Park, his second campaign was disrupted by injury before he bounced back with a strong end to the 2022-23 campaign to earn his call-up.
