Anthony was first called into the England men's senior squad for the internationals with Brazil and Belgium at Wembley Stadium in March 2024, after some eye-catching performances for Newcastle United.
Equally adept as a wide-forward or an attacking midfielder, Gordon had been a regular throughout the international development pathway with England, gaining caps for the MU18s, MU19s, MU20s and then with Lee Carsley's MU21s.
He was a key member of the team which won the UEFA U21 EUROs in 2023, before taking that form back with him onto the domestic scene in the Premier League with Newcastle.
Merseyside-born, he was on the books as a youngster at Liverpool before he switched from red to blue and joined Everton's academy, where he progressed through the ranks before breaking into the first team at Goodison Park.
His displays for the Toffees saw him targeted by a number of clubs, before he made the move to the north-east and St. James' Park in January 2023.
