We have three of our England Women's squads in action this April, so find out the latest updates from each

10am, Thursday 7 April

Gabby George has been called up by England, after Alex Greenwood and Lotte Wubben-Moy were ruled out of Friday night’s FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier away to North Macedonia.

Greenwood and Wubben-Moy did not travel to Skopje with the rest of the squad on Wednesday afternoon, with Greenwood returning to Manchester City for rehabilitation for an ongoing knee issue while Wubben-Moy went back to Arsenal to manage a thigh injury.

Everton defender George has received her first Lionesses call since World Cup qualifying in 2019, having left the WU23 squad - who were in Spain for a double-header this week against the Netherlands - to answer the senior call.

Leah Williamson has travelled but will not be involved in Friday’s qualifier. She is now under concussion protocols having missing training earlier this week as a precaution after being assessed following Arsenal's match at the weekend.

England look to continue their unbeaten start to Group D against North Macedonia with the fixture to be televised on ITV4 on Friday, kicking off at 7pm BST.

The Lionesses will conclude the international window against Northern Ireland at Windsor Park on Tuesday 12 April, with kick-off at 7.55pm and the match to be broadcast live on BBC2.

11am, Tuesday 5 April

Niamh Charles and Bethany England have withdrawn from England duty having tested positive for COVID-19.

Both players were asymptomatic following the required pre-camp testing, and have not come into contact with team-mates at St George’s Park.

Sarina Wiegman has decided not to call up any replacements with a squad of 22 in place for the forthcoming away FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers against North Macedonia on Friday 8 April (7pm kick-off BST) and Northern Ireland on Tuesday 12 April (7.55pm kick-off BST).

Meanwhile, assistant coach Arjan Veurink also tested positive in advance of the squad joining up. It is hoped all three may yet be able to link up with the squad ahead of the Northern Ireland fixture depending on subsequent results.

10am, Tuesday 5 April

Both Eleanor Heaps and Lucia Kendall have been withdrawn from the England WU19s squad for their UEFA U19 EURO qualifiers. Natalia Negri and Olivia McLoughlin have been called up to join the squad as replacements.
