Peter Shilton holds the current all-time appearance record for the England men's national football team, with 125 senior international caps to his name.
The Three Lions goalkeeper represented England across 20 years, after making his debut against East Germany in November 1970.
He featured in five major tournaments including the World Cups in 1982, 1986 and 1990 and European Championships in 1984 and 1988. He retired from international football following England's exit in the semi-final of the 1990 World Cup in Italy.
He is five caps clear of second-placed Wayne Rooney, who is also England's second-highest goalscorer. And another former captain in David Beckham is sat in third place, five caps behind Rooney on 115 appearances.
Harry Kane became the latest centurion on 10 September 2024, when he won his 100th cap in a Nations League game with Finland at Wembley.
