Sarina Wiegman has named a 27-player England squad for their home fixture against Portugal and the trip to Spain as the UEFA Women’s Nations League group stage draws to a conclusion and this summer’s EURO fast approaches.

The Lionesses will have their eyes on top spot, knowing that two wins will secure a place in the Nations League knockout phase beginning in October 2025. Portugal are the visitors to Wembley Stadium connected by EE on Friday 30 May (KO 7.45pm BST) with tickets still available.

England then visit the RCDE Espanyol Stadium in Barcelona on Tuesday 3 June (KO 6pm BST) to meet a Spanish side who currently sit top of the group by two points.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Ella Morris is the latest Young Lioness to earn a senior call-up after impressing with the WU23s and her club. Michelle Agyemang retains her place in the squad and there is a recall for Missy Bo Kearns. Alex Greenwood, Georgia Stanway and Lauren Hemp make their long-awaited returns. Lauren James misses out with injury.

Wiegman said: “These are another two important games for us in a big year. Naturally we are preparing for the summer ahead. We saw in February that both Portugal and Spain will provide a big challenge and that excites us. These are the levels we need to compete against to make sure we are the best possible version of ourselves on 5 July when our EURO begins.

"At the same time, it is important that we focus first on what is right in front of us and ending the Nations League campaign in the best possible way. We have reflected upon two different performances against Belgium in April and although there were positives to take, there is more we want and need to improve on.

“We have the possibility of seeing 27-players in our environment and that’s a real positive. It will give us more good information to make important decisions in the near future. Also naming the squad 12 days before the window begins gives all the players clarity as the season ends for some and carries on for others. The hard work continues from the moment we arrive at St. George’s Park on Monday 26 May.”

Wiegman’s team occupy second place in Group A3 with two wins, a draw and a defeat. They opened their campaign in February with a hard fought 1-1 draw against Portugal in the Algarve, before giving Lionesses’ fans a memorable evening defeating the world champions 1-0 at Wembley Stadium courtesy of a Jess Park goal.

After this international window, England will play Jamaica at Leicester City on Sunday 29 June before travelling to Switzerland to defend their UEFA EURO title. Tickets for the first-ever meeting with the Reggae Girlz are still available via wembleystadium.com/events.

The meeting with Spain at the RCDE Espanyol Stadium is just four days before Thomas Tuchel’s England men’s senior team go head-to-head with Andorra at the same venue in their European qualifier for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
